TCCC 2026-2027 Program Schedule

This year Twin Cities Camera Club is offering a total of 13 educational programs. Six of them will be available via Zoom. There will be five meetings for Photo Sharing. We'll have 6 judged critique sessions and 2 photo competitions (Rainbow and the End of the Year). Check our calendar regularly for optional field trips as well as other shared photo opportunities.

Our clubs’ in-person meetings are held at the Augustana Lutheran Church and begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. except as noted.

The TCCC virtual programs are hosted through Zoom also begin at 7:00 p.m. A link will be sent to current members prior to the meeting. Non-members interested in attending will need to contact Robert Miller (email rwmillerjr@yahoo.com) at least one week prior to the presentation.

Member’s images entered for any TCCC sponsored critique night may be posted online and TCCC may submit your images to any regional competition such as Rainbow or PSA. The maker maintains the copyright and ownership of their images.

Program: Welcome Back

The TCCC Board and Committees will be here to welcome you to our first meeting of the year. We’ve got lots of exciting new offerings to share, including any changes in critiques and Year End Competition; submitting photo images; our 13 programs - some in person while others will be via Zoom. Plus we'll fill you in on our Monthly Photo Sharing; Facebook Photo Challenges, upcoming Field Trips and our new annual Photo Scavenger Hunt. Then to top the evening off, we will share the results of the Summer President's Photo Challenge.

Bring your camera! This will be an opportunity to practice Steve's technique for photographing a dancer in motion.

Photo Exhibition of TCCC members’ prints

Photo prints will be collected at the meetings in September. Even if you are not participating in critiques, you can still bring in prints for the exhibition. Prints should be sized from 8X10 or 8x12. Make sure that your print is mounted (for rigidity) and that you have your name on the back with an arrow pointing up indicating the top of the print. If you have questions, contact Anne Johnston Fera.

This is a platform created to share what you've been working on, be it a personal project or some new technique that you've tried that you're especially proud of. If you would like, you can also use this as an opportunity to ask for constructive feedback on a photo.


Tues., October 20 - Augustana Lutheran Church and Kenney Park

Program: Photographing Refracted Glassware with Reflections with Gerri Jones

This presentation will cover her guide for success in photographing glassware with colorful backgrounds and refractions. An in-depth technical guide with tips on how to set up using the best lenses and minimal equipment, which most everyone has on hand. No fancy studio lighting is required for beautiful images you can create using her technique.

Mon., Nov 2 until Nov 27 (Friday) - North Tonawanda Library

Photo Exhibition of TCCC members’ prints

Photo prints will be collected at Critique Nights in September and October. But even if you are not participating in critiques, you can still bring in prints for the exhibition. Prints should be sized from 8X10 up to 16X20. Make sure that your print is mounted (for rigidity) and that you have your name on the back with an arrow pointing up indicating the top of the print. Or bring them to the library and help with the hanging on November 3 at 9 a.m. If you have questions, contact Rich Brewer.

NAPA One-Day Fall Seminar — with Cecil Holmes

Cecil will present 4 separate programs discussing the following topics:

  • Earth & Flow: Where Landscapes and Waterfalls Come to Life
  • Call of the Wild: Photographing Animals in Their World
  • In Flight and at Rest: The Beauty of Birds in Motion and Stillness
  • Small Subjects, Big Stories: Exploring the Hidden Details of Macro Photography

Program: Still Life Photography with Charles Bartolotta

Charlie will show some different still life images as they rendered in the final edit for competition. He will discuss the various easy and inexpensive items that were used to make these images. He will show many of those items, tell how and where they can be obtained, and how he uses them to make his still life images. Charlie will take questions throughout the presentation.

Annual Holiday Party - 6 pm

Program: Cobblestone Houses of WNY with Veronica Young

Veronica's presentation on the Cobblestone Houses of Western New York was inspired by my late husband, Dr. Paul Young’s involvement in leading tours for the Buffalo Museum of Science and Canisius University where I became interested in the unique history of Cobblestone Houses and wanted to share insights into one of WNY’s local treasures.

Program: Artificial Intelligence and Photography/Every Day A Photo with Mickey Osterreicher & Cathaleen Curtiss

Mickey has been actively involved in such issues as: cameras in the courtroom, the federal shield law, media access, public photography, copyright, and the use of drones for newsgathering. Cathaleen is an award-winning photojournalist, editor, and the former Director of Photography at The Buffalo News. Since 2010, she has been recording an iPhone photo a day, the inspiration for the very popular #EveryDayAPhoto feature for The Buffalo News.

Competition - End of the Year

This is the end-of-year competition for members to select from this year’s images submitted for critique. There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category (Print and Projected) and skill level (Bronze/Silver, Gold/Diamond, Master), with specific rules for entrants.
