Whether you travel the world, or just explore your local area there are countless photo opportunities that exist for the landscape photographer. OM System Ambassador, Peter Baumgarten has been a passionate outdoor photographer for over 40 years.  In this presentation, Peter discusses the challenges and joys of landscape photography and the strategies he employs “to get the shot”.

10:30 Break (30 minutes)

11:00 - Into the Wild – Wildlife Photography Techniques - whether you reside in an urban setting, the rural countryside or a more remote wilderness area it is not unusual to encounter animal life. But capturing the perfect shot can be a real challenge for those who are not dedicated wildlife photographers. From tiny bumblebees to eagles, bears and moose, Peter Baumgarten will explore the techniques he uses to capture the animal world even though he himself is not a “dedicated wildlife photographer”.

12:00 - Lunch is included in registration.  There will be vendors to shop and enjoy while taking a break

1:30 - Shoot for the Stars – Techniques to Improve your Astro-landscape Photography - Photographing at night has challenges and opportunities that just don’t exist for the regular landscape photographer. Join Peter Baumgarten for this how-to seminar that will help you create impressive night sky images. Starting with a review of the basics, you will also discover low-level lighting techniques, live composite star trails, the value of time lapse sequences, photo stacking to reduce noise, and the creation of surreal time-blend images.

3:00 - Break (30 minutes)

3:30 - Seeing Differently - Creating More Interesting Compositions - The challenge in photography is to take a scene that is visible to anyone who cares to look and present it in a uniquely artistic way. With every photograph I make, I attempt to rise to that challenge. It’s all about seeing the world differently, where even the most mundane subjects can be turned into works of art. In this seminar, join me as I explore the processes I use to create some of my landscape, macro and natural abstract images using various compositional strategies and the amazing features of my camera gear.
